The Olive Tree Villa

The local host was Nikos. He was great, came to the house to meet us, gave us the key and remote for the gate. He also provided a few items like bread, eggs, water... This was a nice touch. The place is about 1km away from the local market, beach, restaurants. So, you will need to drive or walk to eat or buy groceries. The view is outstanding, it is peaceful and the the sunrise is beautiful. Nikos has a restaurant/hotel on the beach and we were able to park there a few times. This is very helpful because the place is crowded. Overall, this is a nice place a bit away from the crowd and if you like it quiet you will like it.

We booked the Olive Tree for a week of downtime to relax and revive and it didn't disappoint! We have traveled a lot but not everyone gets it right when it comes to hosting however everything was spot on for our stay. From the location (beautiful with only a 15 minute walk into town for shops/supermarkets and restaurants) to the welcome on arrival. The house was spotlessly clean and not only stocked with a few essentials but also added extras including wine, biscuits, fruit, yogurts and sweet treats and a farewell gift! The owners live either side of the house in there own well kept properties but were so respectful regarding noise and privacy (even stopped cutting the grass when they realised we were home).
We had a minor issue with the air con in the bedroom on the first night which was rectified very quickly the next day whilst we were out. We asked the host for a taxi number but he went one step further and booked it for us!
Would also recommend their restaurant in town called Bluesea, lovely fresh menu including Sushi.

− Can't complain about anything regarding the host or the beautiful view/accommodation, there is a hotel in the distance that has a water park and at times some noise travels across from there but nothing too offensive.

Really enjoyed staying in Elounda, its a wonderful town with so many incredible restaurants and great beaches is nearby. The home was minutes from the town was in a private compound and had a pool with an incredible view. We were situated on a hill and we were able to see the entire ocean, bay, including the mountains nearby.
The host was very gracious and even packed the entire kitchen with food and wine so both adults and children were taken care of for the first few days.
The pool was large and very clean, the home was Modern and clean, and the host was available for recommendations and a reservation at their restaurant which I highly recommend.

I absolutely have to agree with the very positive reviews about the house and the host. We received a very warm welcome upon arrival, along with an incredibly generous welcome package that included plenty of fruit for us to enjoy. The house is in a wonderful location, very safe, with fabulous views from every window and the terrace. A nice pool with refreshing water and a counter-current feature. Everything was clean and in perfect working order. Easy access to the nearby town, whether on foot or by car. A beautiful area to explore!

The owner was incredibly hospitable, the house was full of groceries upon arrival and he even gave us a little gift when we left. He was also super helpful with suggestions. The properly has the most stunning views and is in a great location.

Traumhafte Villa in herrlicher Landschaft mit sehr zuvorkommenden und hilfsbereiten Gastgeber. Das Haus ist hochwertig und mit viel Geschmack eingerichtet und es fehlte uns an nichts. Der Ausblick am Morgen auf das Meer ist unvergesslich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

The house is furnished to a high standard and with great taste, and we lacked nothing. The view of the sea in the morning is unforgettable. We will definitely come back.

Everything was perfect - comfy beds, good showers, nice furniture and a well stocked kitchen with lots of welcome goodies. The pool and sunken seating area were well used and maintained to a high standard. Hosts were really lovely and super helpful any time we needed to ask them anything. They also own a hotel and waterfront restaurant down in Elounda called The Blue Sea - definitely worth a visit. All in all as good a place you will find anywhere in Crete. Thanks for a great stay!

Lovely modern Villa with all the amenities that we needed. Great views, easy to find and a nice 20 min walk to the centre of Elounda. Our host was great and there to help with any issues or advice we needed. Highly recommend.

Beautiful location, spotless and modern property with everything you could need for a week away. Easy walk down to tavernas and restaurants and worth the walk uphill for the view. Couldn't recommend more highly, we had an amazing week in this peaceful and stunning villa.

Having moved from Ammoudara we moved into The Olive Tree Villa and were not disappointed.
We met the host who could not have been more helpful and polite.
The Villa is stunning and the views across to Spinalonga even better.
Getting up early to see the sunrise was a highlight.
You are just a mile away from the lovely marina full
of restaurants, bars and boat trips.
Would definitely recommend this villa and would stay again!

While the villa itself was fantastic, a big shout out to our host Nikos who had stocked the villa with a rather generous array of snacks, cereals, fruits and essentials which helped avoid a late night dash to the stores upon our arrival.

-they hand over the villa with wide selection of grocery essentials

The Olive Tree Villa really met our expectations and it felt like home the moment we stepped in. It offers all the comfort and tranquility that we were looking for as well as spectecular views! Moreover, it's very easy to find and it is only a few minutes away from shops and restaurants. Both the owner and the host are what one would hope for as they made us feel very comfortable and have always accomodated us. We will definitely be returning to this heavenly place and will certainly be recommending it!

The Olive Tree Villa is an exceptional property with outstanding hosts. The owner, Nikos, could not have been more helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. The villa is nicely elevated with great views over the village of Elounda and with easy access to Plaka and Agios Nikolaos. It's a very modern villa with all the amenities and the photos just don't do it justice. There have been some comments about the location, but for us it was ideal. One of our party had recently broken their leg so we got taxis into Elounda, however, the taxis were very frequent (we never waited more than 5 mins) and were quite cheap. You can also walk down to the village centre if you want (ca.15 mins walk). If you were much closer to the village you wouldn't get the great views or the swimmings.

Beautiful house and amazing host, it was a real pleasure to spend the holiday with my family in this place. Excellent experience!

Style, Location, Facilities - Everything. it was perfect

New and very well designed and very comfortable for the 4 of us. Our flight arrived very late and the host was super accommodating and met us in person at 1 in the morning! We were soooo appreciative of the food he left for us and it made the following morning so great to be able to have coffee and breakfast without having to go find a market. It’s things like this that really make a difference for us. Unfortunately for us the weather was not great but I would imagine it would be awesome to spend time in the pool in the warmer months. We come to Crete every year, and will definitely come back to this villa!

The location is a good 15 minutes walk into town and a further 10 minutes to the central square. It is downhill from the villa. We enjoyed the stroll and got a taxi back in the evenings. The elevated views from the villa were worth the walk and it would not put us off returning. The pool is not heated so was very cold in October but that did not stop our children from enjoying it. We cannot wait to return to the Olive Tree!

The Villa is brand new. Fantastic high quality fit out. Beautiful contemporary garden leading onto outstanding views of the bays and island,outstanding sunrises with views to die for!! A hugely appreciated welcome pack of food and beverages . 15 minute easy walk down to Seafront and 8 euros taxi back. Nikos and his brother run the villa and own a hotel by the seafront and are genuine hospitality professionals. You wont meet kinder and more generous hosts. 100% we will be back and would recommend to anyone looking for high quality accommodation and genuine Cretan hospitality. Thank you from Mark and Sam

I can only say this is one of the most beautiful places in Crete and ideal if you want a real relaxing time, great house, beautiful garden and pool run by 2 brothers who are amazing hosts. If we come back to Crete this is where we would stay to unwind and enjoy.
